 Thirteen Days (2000)
IMDB rating: 7.30
Plot: In October, 1962, U-2 surveillance photos reveal that the Soviet Union is in the process of placing nuclear weapons in Cuba. These weapons have the capability of wiping out most of the Eastern and Southern United States in minutes if they become operational. President John F. Kennedy and his advisors must come up with a plan of action against the Soviets. Kennedy is determined to show that he is strong enough to stand up to the threat, and the Pentagon advises U.S. military strikes against Cuba—which could lead the way to another U.S. invasion of the island. However, Kennedy is reluctant to follow through, because a U.S. invasion could cause the Soviets to retaliate in Europe. A nuclear showdown appears to be almost inevitable. Can it be prevented?

Thinking about what I want to do when I leave school?
The other day my dad was talking to my brother (10) about what he wanted to be and then he asked me and I really don’t know! This has been on my mind since then as I am slightly worried because I don’t know what I want to do. I am thirteen now so I will have to be thinking about it soon. I like:
Horses and animals in general
Beauty-make up, hair etc
I know I don’t want to be a hair dresser because it doesn’t appeal to me and I don’t want to be a vet because I don’t like blood and things like that. Any suggestions on idea’s for what I could be or what jobs I could look up that go around what I like?
Thanks!
Natalie
Please don’t stress about it, you are so young

trust me, you will change a lot from now until when you graduate high school. Work really hard all four years so you get good grades so you have a lot of options when it comes to graduation and the next step after that. If your school offers a career center take advantage of that! That’s something I wish I would’ve done in high school. Also your guidance counselors are there to GUIDE you. Talk to them about what you like and they can help schedule classes that will interest you. Just make sure you explore all your options and take special notice in your classes on which subjects you like. Take your time and enjoy it. I’m almost 20 years old, I graduated high school 2 years ago and I still have NO CLUE what I want to do with my life. Keep an open mind, get ideas on careers that you could see yourself doing but don’t decide just yet. When I was a freshmen in high school I was convinced I wanted to go into real estate and sell houses but now that’s the last thing I would want to do. I also wanted to be a gymnastics coach because I’ve been a competitive gymnast all my life but now I could never picture myself pursuing thats as a career. I guess my point is to relax, breath, and realize you have A LOT of time. It is smart if you want to start researching different jobs and career paths but don’t stress about it… There are plenty of websites online you can look up that have to do with finding careers based on what you like to do. Just get a feel for what the different jobs are out there but remember you have so much time to grow and change your mind…

good luck
