I heard this many times, the last time i can remember i heard it in a movie called Donnie Darko:"Every living creature dies alone"

I think that it’s because when you die, no one is with your soul/spirit when you die. Sure, people may be with your body, but really, when you die, your spirit is free. I don’t really know how else to say that. Sorry if it’s a bit scrambled.
